My Story…
Hi! I have had Celiac Disease as well as DH for over 20 years now. I volunteered for the Toronto Chapter early in my diagnosis and helped spur the creation of the Halton-Peel Chapter too.
We've come a long way in knowledge and product availability in the last 20 years but as I look ahead I'm increasingly worried about those with Celiac Disease who wish to live in Long-Term Care and/or Retirement Homes - i.e. have others preparing food for them. We need to increase advocacy and support as a wave of those with celiac disease (the boomers) arrives in these facilities. Also support for the increased costs for those who stay at home but need groceries delivered in the age of COVID.
Thanks for your support!
