Help Jess raise money

For participating in Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Virtual Race 2020

My Story…

I hate all cancers, but this one really hit home after my dad was diagnosed with a bone marrow disease (called "MDS"), which eventually morphed into Acute Myeloid Leukemia ("AML"). After 2.5 years he passed away from AML. It was the most difficult thing I have ever seen or experienced.

I'm doing this for my dad and many, many others who have been diagnosed with these terrible blood cancers. For those who are blood donors, thank you so much, your donation is important for so many. 💜

We can find a cure. 💪🏼🔥

Description

I am changing the world while achieving my personal best by joining The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training!  My fundraising will help explore new frontiers in blood cancer treatments while I discover new reserves of strength and performance in myself.

Did you know:

That an estimated 128,000 people are affected by blood cancers in Canada?
That someone is diagnosed every 23 minutes?
And that every 72 minutes someone will die?

I want to do my part to help change these statistics.

Unfortunately, too many of us have had cancer touch our lives and we all want to know how we can help loved ones who are battling cancer. We’re not all doctors or researchers, but we can all do our part to help.

I can train. You can donate.
