My Story…
Hi all, I'm Lisa and I'm doing this 5k race in support of Youth Unlimited Toronto, a not for profit organization that believes youth can transform our city. In the 1980s, they made the strategic decision to work primarily with youth coming from places vulnerable to poverty, violence, gang involvement, family breakdown and spiritual impoverishment. Today they work in neighbourhoods all over the GTA with youth coming form diverse background and facing unique challenges. Their hope is that by cultivating relationships with caring adults who will mentor and cheer them on, they will be able to bring about positive change to our city - both now and in the future.
Description
As we invest in youth wholeness, we believe young people will experience God’s love and life-changing power. As they do, it’s YU’s vision to see our 5 Gauges of Transformation — which are Renewed Character, Healthy Relationships, Rooted Identity, Joyful Service and Clear Purpose — come to life in each young person we serve and, through their influence, in their community and beyond.
