United Church camps have been an important ministry for at least three generations. My affiliation with camping came later in life, but I have witnessed it to be a life-changing ministry for so many young people. My own children have great memories of their time as 'campers' and 'counsellors' at Lambton United Church Centre near Sarnia, Camp Simpresca and Big Canoe north of Toronto. The current work of Camp Scugog offers a camping experience to so many in inner city Toronto, children whose normal everyday lives are focused south of the 401 highway. Let us help them experience the wide open outdoors. Thanks for helping keep these ministries alive in our day! I am planning on walking 15 km of the Bruce trail during October.
