My Story…
Running/walking (ouch, hip injury!) this year for Matthew House Refugee Home. While a virtual event, I will be completing the distance all the same. It's been a challenging year to meet the financial needs to maintain the great history of care and support for MH's refugee guests given the restrictions we are all living at the moment. I'd really appreciate any support you can lend by helping me meet my fundraising goal. Your support for Matthew House helps someone, often unaccompanied youth recovering from sometimes unspeakable trauma, to make a new life here in Canada. Many previous refugee guests are now thriving and contributing back to our broader community. Our worlds' needs are great at the moment and this is one way to impact a specific life and need. Matthew House is a community of homes that welcome, shelter and assist newly arrived refugee claimants in Toronto. Our desire is to restore refugee's dignity and hope by providing emotional and physical support in a homelike setting to help them heal from their journey and establish new lives in Canada. When we run for Matthew House, we send a message that says "my Toronto is your Toronto" for vulnerable newcomers like refugees. Join our team and help transform the lives of newly-arrived refugees.
