My Story…
Hello From Downtown Toronto
I am taking part in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon during the month of October. As many of you know, the heat stopped my completion of the Chicago Marathon in 2007 and this is an opportunity to not only try again but, more importantly, to raise funds for the Out of the Cold program, run by St Andrew's in Downtown Toronto.
St. Andrew's provides about 500 meals a week to homeless and needy guests in the downtown core. Food is normally served as a sit-down meal but this year, as with many restaurants in the area, we are moving to take-out.
Your contribution can make a real difference in the lives of Torontonians as we move into the cold winter weather and any support you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Description
via Outreach Ministries of St. Andrew's Church in the downtown Toronto, including "Out of the Cold" serving over 5,000 meals a year, the "Better English Cafe" which offers conversational English for newcomers; the "Heart of the City" speaker series, which addresses contemporary ethics and culture; and the " Music at St. Andrew's" series. All events funded by the Scotiabank Toronto Marathon are offered for the benefit of the wider community rather than the congregation.
