My Story…
It's the annual AIM Children's Charity marathon fundraiser! Sadly, this year will be a bit different with runs taking place individually or in smaller groups. On the bright side, I can actually run a 5km this year! (previous years I have walked)
Help me support one of my favourite local charities. Funds raised from this year's marathon campaign will go towards AIM's efforts to continue providing subsidized therapy programs in a healthier and safer environment. In light of the global COVID-19 pandemic, our goal is to protect the health of every child who walks through the doors of our centre so that they can continue to safely participate in our programs and services. AIM plans to add another layer of protection for our clients and staff by installing medical grade air filters. This is the same filters used in dental offices and AIM will be placing them in therapy rooms to help clean the air and improve ventilation. Each filter costs $2000 and our goal is to make sure each AIM child stays safe, happy, and healthy at all times, especially during their therapy sessions.
Description
AIM Without Limits captures the very essence of our values and vision. We believe it’s not only possible, but necessary, to provide support and services to each child with autism according to their needs so that they can achieve their full potential without boundaries. This program is an integrated subsidized therapy service that includes 40-60 hours of IBI (Intensive Behavioral Intervention) per month at $20 per hour. This will allow families with limited financial resources to access therapy services for their children while they are on government wait lists for funding.
This year, it is more important than ever for AIM to continue its mission of providing accessible services due to COVID-19's financial impact on all families. Our goal is to provide services in a safe environment for all of the children and staff that walk through our centre doors. You can help make this a reality by supporting our efforts to secure medical grade air filters for each of our therapy rooms.
