My Story…

As a Mexican in Canada I feel the need to support those who need it most in my country. 8 years ago I had the fortune to join Amistad Canada, a registered Canadian charity where Mexicans and Canadians work together to improve the lives those in need through better health, education and social justice. Plase join me to supporting the amazing job that Patronato Pro Niños is doing in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

Description

For ten years, AMISTAD CANADA (AC) has been working to improve the lives of Mexicans-in-need through health and education Projects delivered in partnership with fourteen Mexican NGOs. 


Projects include: mobile medical-dental service to remote communities; healthy school meals; underwriting medical care for sick and disabled children; supplemental classes in subjects such as literacy, computer skills, English and the arts; primary to post-secondary scholarships; a school for the Deaf; and a therapy centre for children with various disabilities.


AC participation in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge will provide Mexican-Canadians, and other runners who are attached to Mexico, an opportunity to support these initiatives.
