For participating in Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Virtual Race 2020

My Story…

I love to run! From back in the day when I used to explore the woods around Ottawa to more recently when I've had the opportunity to travel to run my favorite distance in various cities. For a long run, the marathon distance is something special. Over this past winter, I was training to run a scenic race along the St. Lawrence Seaway, ending in Cornwall. For that marathon I thought I would start using my running as an occasion to support some good causes. Of course everything was cancelled due to Covid-19 and the running community has adapted by going virtual. So... This October I'll be running the VIRTUAL Toronto Waterfront Marathon in support of the Right to Play charity. No VR helmet required, just an app on my phone and a long course of my choosing here in Kingston. Yup, the full 42.2 kilometers! Please help if you can, your contribution of some dollars towards Right to Play is gratefully appreciated by me and helps spread some joy and health in Canada and worldwide.

Description

Run so children can play. When you run on behalf of Right To Play, you are helping children to rise above adversity. Children are the most vulnerable group of people in the world. For many, their futures are disrupted by violence, exploitation and inequality. Every day they struggle to be safe, to attend and stay in school, and to be treated with dignity and respect. Right To Play’s unique play-based methodology prepares children with the knowledge and skills they need to rise above these challenges and find their way back to hope.
