Grief has played a large role in my life these past five years. Losing my father at the age of 19 left me with pain, anger and confusion beyond what I could have ever imagined. I was fortunate to be surrounded by endless love and support from my friends and family, as well as organizations that provided my family with support when we needed it the most. Unfortunately, many children, much younger than I was at the time, are not as lucky. Dr. Jay Children's Grief Centre provides children and families with resources and services to learn to understand their grief, at an extremely critical point in development. Working as a research analyst for the Centre has allowed me to see first-hand the life-changing impact our services have on children and caregivers, at what is likely one of the most challenging experiences they will face.
