For participating in Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Virtual Race 2020

My Story…

HI! I am now heading into the last leg of my training for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, in support of Scientists in School.

Several weeks ago, I challenged myself to walk a half marathon in a 'one race day virtual start to finish walk'. It's my small way of supporting a charity I really believe in. Now that I'm on the homestretch of the half marathon training, I am asking you today to consider a donation in support of Scientists in School.

Like so many others, Scientists in School has been hit hard by the challenges of COVID-19. I am so proud of the incredible evolution of Scientists in School during these times, never losing sight of the charity's vision, and finding new and meaningful ways to continue to reach out and support the young scientists in our Canadian communities. It is always a privilege to see Scientists in School in action in our schools and communities, but it is incredible to see what the passionate and dedicated Scientists in School team has accomplished during these past 7 months.

My walk will be far from the Toronto waterfront, as I join virtually from Alberta. Each step is in support of both the Scientists in School team and the hundreds of thousands of students Scientists in School impacts annually.

Thank you for your support of Scientists in School!

(Every single donation of any size helps make an impact! You will receive a tax receipt for donations $10 and above.)

Description

Scientists in School engages more youth than any Canadian science education charity, museum or science centre. Last year, we reached our 10 millionth scientist! But more work still needs to be done. Your donation will help us to subsidize our workshop costs so that they remain affordable for schools and will provide free workshops to youth in low-income communities. Donate now to help us raise the next generation of frontline health workers, researchers, technologists and scientists – just a few of the STEM workers that are essential in critical times like what we are facing today!
