My Story…
This year, the JONG's are strolling (literally) to raise support for UrbanPromise Toronto. The 4 of us will be embarking on a 5k walk, with each step remembering why we believe in the mission of UPT as a way to PRACTICALLY and INTENTIONALLY create long term change against systematic racism, cyclical poverty, and spiritual empowerment for those without Christ. Obviously because of COVID-19 this year, we are unable to run as normal along the waterfront, so this year Scotiabank has introduced a virtual run, where we will still be participating but on our own time as opposed to at the big event. Children living in Toronto Community Housing want what any kid wants...

They're up against some tough realities...
>material poverty
>lack of resources
>destructive cycles
>broken families
>lure of drugs
>threat of violence
Which can make them feel unworthy, defeated, angry, hopeless.
BUT EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE HOPE, AND EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW JESUS-THE AUTHOR OF HOPE ITSELF.
