This year, the JONG's are strolling (literally) to raise support for UrbanPromise Toronto. The 4 of us will be embarking on a 5k walk, with each step remembering why we believe in the mission of UPT as a way to PRACTICALLY and INTENTIONALLY create long term change against systematic racism, cyclical poverty, and spiritual empowerment for those without Christ. Obviously because of COVID-19 this year, we are unable to run as normal along the waterfront, so this year Scotiabank has introduced a virtual run, where we will still be participating but on our own time as opposed to at the big event. Check out this video to understand WHY we run: https://vimeo.com/457856929 Also consider joining our team and participating to help raise funds by checking out this link: https://raceroster.com/events/2020/27138/scotiabank-toronto-waterfront-marathon-virtual-race-2020?aff=TDYRP Thank you for the many ways you love our family and support our vocation!
Children living in Toronto Community Housing want what any kid wants...
>To be known, accepted and valued.
>To become just like their role models.
They're up against some tough realities...
>lack of resources
>lure of drugs
>threat of violence
Which can make them feel unworthy, defeated, angry, hopeless.
BUT EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE HOPE, AND EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW JESUS-THE AUTHOR OF HOPE ITSELF.
Join The Run for Promise Team - Raise funds supporting programs where children are known, accepted and valued by positive role models, providing opportunities to dream.
