My Story…
We have travelled to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo for the last few years and are so impressed with Carols' "Rice and Beans" program. This organization feeds hundreds of school children and their families each year similar to our local "food bank". Covid presents special challenges for fundraising and they are in dire straits. Please help me raise money for this worthy program.

Description
For ten years, AMISTAD CANADA (AC) has been working to improve the lives of Mexicans-in-need through health and education Projects delivered in partnership with fourteen Mexican NGOs.
Projects include: mobile medical-dental service to remote communities; healthy school meals; underwriting medical care for sick and disabled children; supplemental classes in subjects such as literacy, computer skills, English and the arts; primary to post-secondary scholarships; a school for the Deaf; and a therapy centre for children with various disabilities.
AC participation in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge will provide Mexican-Canadians, and other runners who are attached to Mexico, an opportunity to support these initiatives.
