Help us raise money

For participating in Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Virtual Race 2020

Our story…

Carefirst Foundation is committed to supporting Carefirst Seniors and Community Services Association and other organizations with similar objectives through its fundraising initiatives, so that they may continue to provide quality care in the community and empower individuals in need to lead independent lives. Carefirst Seniors serves over 20,000 clients each year, including seniors and those living with physical disabilities, with the help of 500 staff members and 1,200 active volunteers. Our team of clinicians, PSWs, administrators/ coordinators, and volunteers ensures our clients who live in the GTA and surrounding neighborhoods enjoy high quality of life. Carefirst’s commitment to serving the community is based on the belief that "care" for our clients comes "first." Meeting their needs is our primary concern and focus. We strive to maximize their well-being through a range of social, health-care and supportive services delivered through an integrated model of care.

Description

Proceeds raised from the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon virtual race will support Carefirst Seniors’ Capital Project – the Carefirst Campus of Care.  This proposed state-of-the-art multi-disciplinary centre, located in Richmond Hill, combines a 120-bed long-term care home with a community hub that offers integrated social, health-care and supportive services. Our project will enhance access to a wide range of services for local residents and tackle the shortage of long-term care beds in York Region and adjacent areas (second lowest LTC bed supply per 1000 people over the age of 75, and the highest number of individuals on LTC waitlists in Ontario.)

Your donation will help:

  • Seniors – To promote and expand our services, including long-term care, medical-care, home care, transportation, Chronic Disease Management and Wellness Programs, etc.
  • Diverse communities  – To provide culturally appropriate social and health services in various languages.
  • Immigrants/New residents  - To support their integration into Canadian society and foster growth in their local communities by facilitating social, recreational, information and referral services.
  • Youth  – To promote social awareness among youth and engage  learning and volunteering opportunities.

‘You Make Caring Possible’

Your contributions support our development of the Carefirst Campus of Care in Richmond Hill and the continued improvement and delivery of our services. On behalf of our community, we thank you for making caring possible.
