Our story…

Jóvenes Adelante helps create a radically expanding future for the students of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, by offering access to higher education. STUDENTS BELOW have JOINED THE TEAM TO GIVE BACK, show gratitude, to be part of an event that nurtures their own health. 

Several are running every day, so please show them your support!

Funds raised through this race will go into our Susi Beere Emergency fund to support extra student needs, including computer upgrades necessary as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, full time online learning, or other emergencies. The goal is to raise $10,000.

Description

For ten years, AMISTAD CANADA (AC) has been working to improve the lives of Mexicans-in-need through health and education Projects delivered in partnership with fourteen Mexican NGOs. 


Projects include: mobile medical-dental service to remote communities; healthy school meals; underwriting medical care for sick and disabled children; supplemental classes in subjects such as literacy, computer skills, English and the arts; primary to post-secondary scholarships; a school for the Deaf; and a therapy centre for children with various disabilities.


AC participation in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge will provide Mexican-Canadians, and other runners who are attached to Mexico, an opportunity to support these initiatives.
