My Story…
I walk with NYWS to stand with and support women and survivors of violence. I’m the Director for Finance at NYWS so I see first hand how we push boundaries, advocating for women and putting survivors’ needs first. Our brand new centre has been ideal during this pandemic as it allows for distancing. It’s allowed NYWS to expand our capacity to 40 beds which are crucial but it hasn’t been easy. Women need more than just a safe space, they need support and our staff are so committed. I am amazed at the work that they do and the impact they make in the lives of the women and children we serve and well as the community.

I am running for NYWS!
With your support we can ensure women and children continue to have a welcoming, comforting and supportive space when escaping violence. In March this year NYWS opened their brand-new facility including a 17-bed Emergency Shelter, and Community Collective. All the money that I raise will support the expanded programing in this new space. Including Trauma Counselling, Expressive Arts Therapy and Food Security Food Justice programing.
