VIRTUAL EVENT FAQS
We know participating in a virtual event isn’t the same as taking it all in, in person. We get it, and we don’t love it either. We would much rather be there on event day with all of you to cheer you on and watch you cross the finish line! But since 2020 is a little different for us all, we’re rolling with the punches and hope you’ll join us. We’re working to create an engaging and inspiring virtual experience for you that will help encourage you all the way through training and across your finish line.
So if you’re debating whether or not you should join us, know that we and the rest of the Think Pink Breast Cancer Ride community will have your back through it all.
Additionally, see below for helpful information regarding our virtual event and what to expect if you choose to embark on the Think Pink Breast Cancer Ride virtual experience.
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL EVENT?
A virtual event allows participants to complete the event on their own.
You will cycle your preferred event distance at your own pace and at a time and location of your choosing. You choose your own event day and your own starting line, whether it’s on a trainer or on the road.
This option will allow those invested so heavily in their training to keep going and be rewarded by completing their respective event distance.
DO I HAVE TO RIDE MY VIRTUAL EVENT ON A SPECIFIC DAY?
No, you choose your planned event date. We encourage participants to complete their event distance between now and October 10, 2020.
WILL IT BE A SET COURSE OR ONE WE CAN MAKE UP?
Participants will be choosing their own route for the virtual event. Keep in mind that the Think Pink Breast Cancer Ride will not be providing any on-course support.
Additionally, this allows participants from across the state and country to be involved and still join the event.
WILL I HAVE TO USE MY PHONE OTHER DEVICE TO RECORD IT AND UPLOAD RESULTS?
We’re going to be on the honor system for completing the event. However, we ask that participants upload their finish time, which is why we have a results page. You will have the option to upload your results manually or through the ASICS Runkeeper App.
After virtual final instructions are sent, you will receive a separate email on how to merge your event from your Race Roster account to your Runkeeper profile.
You will then select “Start Virtual Run” and follow the prompts to record your participation. Once recorded, your results will post automatically to Race Roster.
