The Ohio Super Sprint Triathlon Challenge, organized by Greenswell Events, is an exciting way to experience triathlon whether it’s your 1st triathlon or your 100th triathlon. The triathlon is great for all ages. Families can race together or race against each other. Get some exercise then stay and play! All finishers receive a great medal.
The event takes place entirely within Delaware State Park. Participation is limited so register early!
Event shirts are optional and can be purchased during registration. The event will be timed and we will have prizes for winners in each age division and overall. All participants will receive a finisher medal.
Course Distances: Swim 200 yards, Bike 6 miles, Run 1 mile
Exciting Format:
Athletes can select to do the swim, bike, and run sequence only 1 time or elect to do it 2 or 3 times.
- Sprint - athletes will swim 200 yds, bike 6 miles, and run 1 mile and then finish.
- Challenge- athletes will swim 200 yds, bike 6 miles, run 1 miles and then repeat that sequence of swim, bike, run. Once completed with 2nd sequence then head to the Finish to complete the Challenge.
- Super Challenge - athletes will swim, bike, and run and repeat that sequence in order for a total of 3 times. Upon completion of 3rd sequence and 3rd run, head to Finish to complete their Super Challenge event.
IMPORTANT: We have adopted a option-based registration approach to allow athletes to reduce the cost of their participation in the Ohio Super Sprint Challenge. The base entry fee does not include an event shirt but you have the option of adding these items to your registration. A finisher's medal is included in your entry fee. USA Triathlon Sanctioned Event
What does that mean? The term “sanction” refers to the compliance of a multisport event to USA Triathlon's safety requirements. Safety plans, course maps, and event details must be submitted for review by experienced USA Triathlon staff. This ensures events are safe and fair competition environments.
Ohio Super Sprint Triathlon Challenge is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event. All rules and safety standards promulgated by USA Triathlon are applicable. Triathlon for Hope is organized and led by a Level 2 USA Triathlon Certified Race Director, Craig Thompson of Greenswell Events. Level 2 Race Directors are those Race Directors that have chosen to obtain the highest accreditation that USA Triathlon offers by completing the certification requirements, meeting annual continuing education requirements, maintaining SafeSport training and certification, have a demonstrated record of quality, organized triathlons with proven and documented safety standards, and are in good standing with USA Triathlon.
Check-In Details
Packet Pickup is Race Day only. Race check-in begins at 6:30 am, and concludes when transition closes at 8:00 am.
Event Divisions and Awards
The following event divisions are available to all distances:
Age divisions: Male & Female:
- Under 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, etc
Note: Reference age-up rules for all age division participants. Your age division and event start wave is based on your age as of December 31 of that year. For example, if you are 39 on the day of the race but will be 40 by December 31st, your wave and age divsion is 40-49. Failure to participate and start in the correct wave will cause your time to be inaccurate and impact division results.
AWARDS
Only the Top 3 overall in each event and the top finisher by gender in each age division are eligible for awards. Awards will be handed out shortly after finish. No awards will be mailed. IMPORTANT: It is important that you begin your event in the proper event wave. As example, If you are 39 on the day of the race but will be 40 by December 31st, your wave and age division is 40-49.
Important NOTICE: Awards are ordered 10 days in advance of the event. Award divisions not represented will not have an award ordered if no division entrants as of the order date.
Event Rules
Participants must wear assigned number on the front of your shirt or shorts. Your number must be visible to checkpoint recorders at all times. Attach timing chip to your ankle with the provided strap. You will not be scored at the finish line unless your number is visible and your timing chip is attached when you cross the finish.
Bike Helmets are mandatory. No exceptions. If Bike Helmet and bike numbers have been assigned, they must be secured to equipment.
Once the transition closes you will be required to display assigned race number to enter and exit the transition or remove any equipment.
For each transition, participants must return to their assigned position to transition from one discipline to another. Example: If you have been assigned position #235 in transition, your transition from swim to bike, bike to run, run to swim takes place at your assigned position. Do not place shoes at entrance to transition.
Swim Caps colors and numbers will be assigned and must be worn. You will not be able to start the swim without your swim cap. Non-participants are not permitted in the transition area for any reason. Transition closes promptly at stated time. No entrance into transition will be permitted after stated time.

Refund and Transfer Policy
IMPORTANT -You will be required to acknowledge the policy guideliness during registration.
REFUNDS
- There are no refunds if the event is cancelled, postponed, rescheduled, or latered, due to events outside our control (weather, water conditions, road construction, police directive, etc).
- There are no refunds for job transfers, relocation, job travel, or medical condition or injury.
- Any refund request will be referred to this policy.
- Transfer to another participant is permitted if made by the posted Transfer Date. Note: Your original registration will be credited to the new participant who will be required to pay the difference between current registration fee, any USAT member or 1-day fee, transfer fee, and the original registration credit. If transfer is made within 30 days of the event and personalized bibs have been ordered, the new participant may receive your personalized bib.
INJURY DEFERRAL POLICY
- There are no injury deferrals for this event. You are able to Transfer your entry or transfer "down" in distance per the guidelines listed above. There are no refunds.
Inclement Weather Policy
Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event paying special attention to the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds and extreme temperatures. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these predictions on the Greenswell website and on our Facebook so that participants can properly prepare for severe weather during the race as well as possible course alterations. Severe weather updates will also be sent to participants via email as necessary.
The Event Director and Safety Director will monitor the weather and make a decision if any action will be taken to modify the race. Possible changes include: altering the start time for the race or in extreme situations, cancellation of the event. Please listen closely to all public address announcements at the starting line of the race.
Visible lightning will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 30 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 15 minute increments.
If heat is predicted, extra water and hydration stations will be provided to the athletes, both prior to, during and after the event. The medical team will be alerted that athletes may require additional medical attention during and after the event due to the high temperatures. If it is felt that it is unsafe for participants to start the race due to severe heat that race may be suspended or cancelled.
Race personnel reserve the right to delay, cancel, or suspend the race due to inclement weather. Participants must abandon the race if ordered to do so the race personnel, medical staff, fire or police officers.
