Raise money for Miles J Freeman Memorial Scholarship Foundation
The Miles J. Freeman Memorial Scholarship Foundation was formed in 2016 to honor the life and legacy of Miles James Freeman.
Miles was the son of Brenda L. Gill and James J. Freeman, Jr. He was 14 years old when he passed away at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, March 10, 2013, following a brief illness due to MRSA. Miles was an extremely caring, loving and extraordinary young man who loved God, Motown, the Steelers, and being a big brother. He lived life to the fullest and leaves a legacy of academic perseverance and athletic excellence.
A student at Donelson Christian Academy from K-4 through 6th grade and DuPont Tyler in 7th and 8th grades, Miles was an avid sports enthusiast and excelled in football, soccer, track, basketball and martial arts. He also persevered in the classroom and worked hard to maintain good grades. Miles aspired to attend college and learned at an early age that with hard work, he could do anything and be whatever he chose. He knew with God's blessings he was destined to do great things.
Through this foundation, we hope that Miles' legacy will inspire other young people to reach for the stars. Miles, we love you and we miss you. Always remember that you're our Rockstar!
