IMPORTANT INFORMATION
To volunteer in a clinical capacity, you must be registered with a professional body such as the GMC/NMC etc. In addition you must have indemnity insurance. This is available through unions, professional bodies or specific organisations such as the Medical Defence Union.
To ensure that we are able to provide high quality care to the runners and support our expanding medical research activities, we are modifying the way we recruit our clinical volunteers. This will enable us to provide the right skills across all of our treatment centres.
- CLINICAL VOLUNTEERS
We will therefore require clinical volunteers from the following core professions - Consultant & Registrar level for Anaesthetic and Emergency Medicine, ODPs, Registrars & SHOs ideally with Emergency Medicine experience, Specialist Parademics (PP/CCP), Nurses & ENPs from Critical Care/Acute Floor, GP/GP Trainee All doctors should be post F2 level.
If you fit into the above categories, please select: Clinical Volunteers
- ALLIED CLINICAL PROFESSIONS
We will also require support from Physiotherapists, Pharmacists, Podiatrists (including student Podiatrists), Pharmacy Technicians and Biomedical Scientists
If you fit into the above categories, please select: Allied Clinical Professions
- NON-CLINICAL
If you are an F1 or F2 Doctor or another Healthcare Professional without indemnity insurance, you can still volunteer but not in a clinical capacity. Equally if you are a Healthcare Professional that is not listed in the roles above, including PR Pharmacy Trainees and Pharmacy Students, you can still join us as a non-clinical volunteer as we need additional help with a number of tasks including operational support to the research teams.
(Please note that for September 2021, there will be no research activities but we will return to this for the April 2022 event)
If you are interested in joining us as a non-clinical volunteer, please select: Non-Clinical Volunteers
