I have signed up to show support for children fighting cancer

Please support my efforts to help children fighting cancer

Description

During this difficult time I have decided to join members of the St. John Paul II School community in a show of support for children with cancer and their families through the Tyler Robinson Foundation. On May 4th I will be sending a message of support to these families who are facing additional challenges during this pandemic. I know that this is a scary time for many people and these families face an extra challenge as their children are going through a pandemic with a compromised immune system and other medical challenges. If you are able, I would love you to support my efforts with a small donation to this important cause. You can support my efforts by visiting my personal fundraising page.

One local family had this to say about their current struggles:

The Tyler Robinson Foundation (TRF) helps strengthen families financially and emotionally as they cope with the tragedy of a pediatric cancer diagnosis by providing grants specifically to offset out-of-pocket expenses.  TRF meets a critical need in communities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Each year, 1 in 285 children are diagnosed with cancer. While many pediatric cancer organizations focus on growing awareness and support for families with the physical and emotional toll of a diagnosis, the huge financial hardship cancer treatment places on families is rarely discussed. Every cent that TRF receives will go directly to a family struggling during this difficult time.

TRF does not simply give one time grants to families, they take families in for a minimum of a year with large scale grants which allow the family to focus, not on their bills, but on what is most important, caring for their child.

This is what some families have said about the support TRF provides:

"I can’t thank you enough for welcoming us to your family. Our family had fallen to pieces, our daughter fell ill with schizophrenia, I developed chronic seizures and then our son Owen was diagnosed with brain cancer. It seemed like all hope was lost and we were about to loose it all, our son, our family and our home. TRF stepped in and shared with us their love and compassion for life, and welcomed us into their family as one of their own."Munday family; Barrie, Ontario

"We can not say enough amazing things about The Tyler Robinson Foundation. They are like family to us and have been with us through all of our ups and downs. We are truly blessed to have The Tyler Robinson Foundation in our lives" Brissette family; Sarnia Ontario

Please support me as I work to make a difference for families battling through a childhood cancer diagnosis.
