After a slow start in the spring I have found my personal fitness goal that helped me get to the next level of challenge. In early September I will attempt to ride as long as I ever have - solo - on my road bike and have set a minumum goal of 200km's and a stretch goal of 300 km's! Many years ago in some charity group rides I think I edged over 200 km's once (209 or 206) but that included alot of group riding, pack riding and easily 50% of these miles were accumulated with some help. I have put in some good training all summer including a few rides from Toronto-Niagara on the Lake (140 km's approx). Plus I have done alot of city riding on my new "Tank" which is my Cargo Bike. I miss the old days of racing marathons so this made sense to me as I enjoy spending long hours doing an endurance challenge and the hope is that I can inspire others to push themselves and do the same.
