Those closest to me know the incredible impact migraine has had on my life. The most important thing I have learned about migraine is that if you know one person with migraine, you know one person with migraine. While best known for its excruciating headaches, migraine is a genetic neurological disorder that can also have debilitating symptoms including cognitive impairment, memory loss, loss of words, dizziness, disorientedness, brain fog and others. It impacts everyone who has it differently. Some rarely have attacks and some have debilitating symptoms every day. Research has been underfunded for decades (could it be because more that 75% of people with migraine are women?). The Alliance for Headache Disorder Advocacy is a stellar organization bringing doctors and patients together to advocate for Headache issues. Money raised through this effort has great impact.
