Our team's story

HELP US HELP THE HOUSE! This year, Footsteps for Families will be a virtual fundraising event, we hope to still raise money for the house to bring hope for the future. We cannot imagine needing the house or having our child hospitalized during this pandemic, and our hearts go out to all the families, staff and volunteers right now! As many of you know, we stayed at the house for a duration of 5 months while Duncan fought courageously in the NICU until well enough to come home. During that time spent at the house we felt so much comfort and so much love and since then we strive to always give back to the house. Over the last two years Team Duncan has raised close to $10,000 - our goal this year is to raise $1,000 as times are tough and we know that giving donations just might not be an option this year. Ronald McDonald House Charities South Central Ontario (RMHCSCO) serves as a regional resource for thousands of families whose children are being treated at local hospitals. Families typically come to us within 48 hours of their child's critical diagnosis, premature birth, or accident. These families' lives have been instantly turned upside down and our programs are committed to providing safe and comfortable accommodations, nutritious home-cooked meals, laundry services and specialized programming. By making a donation today, you will be helping to ensure that these comforts of home are available to provide a sense of normalcy when their lives are anything but, and ensure that the only thing our families need to focus on is each other.
