The Start2Finish One Mile Challenge
June 1 - July 1
How fast can you run a mile?
If the answer is...not fast enough, this is a great, short-term, virtual challenge to keep you motivated and disciplined, and is designed to be your race at your pace. Run it anywhere - on a local track or around your neighborhood.
As part of this challenge, you will run a timed mile every two weeks from June 1 to July 1. A timed mile serves as a great workout. This challenge is designed to help you develop speed while learning to hone your pace management skills and mental focus. A timed mile is challenging but not so hard on the body that it will interfere with any weekend racing plans.
This is not a race against others, unless of course you want to start some smack talk with your friends (yes, there will be a leaderboard).
The victory is progress over the five-week period, this can be:
- Run your fastest mile ever or,
- A benchmark to test your fitness or,
- A pacing test: pick a time target and try to hit that number or,
- Just a fun distraction.
