My Story

We are joining Flutie 5K virtual run this year with the hope to raise funds for both Flutie Foundation and also for The Circle of Vietnamese Parents. We are planning for our possible virtual Tet - New Year event for the year of the Gold Ox. Flutie Foundation provided us grant funding so we can organize weekly social recreational activities for our children/youth and families during school closure because of COVID-19. It has been super helpful for our kids to stay engaged and connected with one another during this unprecedented time. Tiny will run this year Flutie 5K as a way to give back to the support she received from the Flutie Foundation. Thank you all for considering joining The Circle of Vietnamese Parents’ team and helping me educating Tiny and her friends the value of gratitude and appreciation. Join me in reaching my goal for Dougie's Epic Adventure: A Magical Flutie 5K, to raise critical funds for the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism to help people and families affected by autism live life to the fullest! 


Former NFL Quarterback, Doug Flutie, and his wife Laurie started the Doug Flutie, Jr. Flutie Foundation for Autism in 1998 after their son, Dougie, was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. Their personal experience of raising a son on the autism spectrum inspired them to help others on an equally long and challenging journey. Over its 22-year history, the Flutie Foundation has distributed over $15 million to partner schools and organizations who provide clinical therapies, respite services, recreational programs, social skills training, job supports and more for people and families affected by autism.The Flutie Foundation also provides direct financial support to families through initiatives like education technology tools, adaptive camp scholarships, safety equipment, to provide immediate help where it's needed the most.
