My Story…

Most of you know 'my story', I'm the girl who had a liver transplant at 27 :) But what most people don't know is everything that goes along with that. Life long daily drug routine, monthly blood work, annual check up tests/scans with half a dozen different doctors appts, but all that is okay, but its the daily reminder that a transplant is NOT a cure it is a 'treatment' that buys you more time. This photo of me is from August 2016, I had just celebrated 5 years post transplant, and just ran a 30min 5km in 30+ degree heat and sun at the Canadian Transplant Games earning a silver medal. A week later I was diagnosed with Cancer, probably because of my transplant drugs, a week later I had surgery. A year later I was running in the 5Km race in Malaga Spain at the World Transplant Games in similar conditions. I didn't win but I finished. I'm asking for you to donate $5 thru my page to help raise funds for the Y, a community organization that I have seen first hand change peoples lives.

I have joined the YMCA's Sweat for Strong Communities 506 Challenge in support of Strong Communities. I am committed raising $506 for the YMCA. I am asking you to make a donation to sponsor me for this event. Your donation will help our community get access to Y programming.
