Help ensure no one endures pregnancy or infant loss alone.

As most of you know, Joey and I lost our first baby at 15 weeks of pregnancy in June 2017, to exencephaly. There are no words to express the emotions you go through when you lose a child, no matter how far along in the pregnancy. We met Mat and Theresa (Bridget's lovely parents) through a pregnancy and infant loss support group and it reminded us, we are not alone! It's terrible this is what has brought us together, but we love to support this run and spread awareness of pregnancy and infant loss because it's a "taboo" subject that we think NEEDS to be discussed! This year, we were lucky enough to welcome our little "rainbow baby", Carter.. who will be joining us this year, in remembering his older sibling that we never got to meet. We hope you will join us too! If you cannot attend, please donate and help grieving families! I know these comfort kits would have helped us, now I would love to help others!

Bridget's Run is a 1km/5km family fun run/walk in recognition of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month and in support of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Obstetrics Bereavement Program and Bridget's Bunnies.

Bridget's Bunnies is dedicated to ensuring no family endures pregnancy or infant loss alone. In memory of baby Bridget, who was born still just one day shy of her due date, comfort kits are provided to families in the Barrie and surrounding areas who are experiencing a loss. Kits include comfort items, memory makers and resources of support to provide gentle direction and compassion to help parents in the days that follow loss.

As COVID-19 marches on across the nation we know that families will continue to endure pregnancy and infant loss. As a result these families are left to navigate the ramifications of this traumatic experience in an environment of overwhelming uncertainty and fear.
