The Happy Campers are walking together to reach our goal for Door of Hope. Our team name is in honor of Mitch Cook (who passed away in 2015). One of his favorite sayings was that he was a "Happy Camper!" What does it mean to be a HAPPY CAMPER? I don't know the history of this phrase, but to Mitch, it meant he was FULL of JOY, no matter the circumstances. It really had nothing to do with camping when he would say this. But as I think about our previous camping experiences, they aren't always comfortable, and they don't always go as planned, but we can be full of JOY no matter what is going on around us. The Joy of the Lord is our strength. It comes from deep within, knowing that God is WITH us and HE will guide us through every storm and challenge. Let's build JOY together as a team while raising money to help more people heal from trauma and abuse.
