Help Kaitlyn raise money

Not only am I a proud member of the Tidewell Foundation team, but my family has also experienced the care and compassion that Tidewell's incredible clincal staff provides to every family in our community, when my grandma was in Tidewell's care for the last six months of her life. My grandma and I were incredibly close, and knowing that there were people taking care of her during that time who understood, appreciated and empathized with the bond we had was so meaningful and special. While losing a family member is tough, not matter what the situation, losing a family member to Alzheimer's can often feel like you never truly had the chance to say goodbye, and watching your loved one forget your name, then who you are, can be really painful. The Tidewell team that cared for her during that time understood how difficult that would be for our family, and treated her like she was their own grandma. They respected her, gave her comfort and compassion, and treated her with dignity during the end of her life. I'm participating in this year's Turkey Trot for the Tidewell Foundation in memory of my grandma, Joan Bertuglia, and to honor her care team, and my colleagues who bring care and comfort to patients and families in our community free of charge each and every day.
