At iDaph events safety is our top priority. We want to ensure that our participants, staff and volunteers stay safe and healthy, and we are following all the necessary precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Over the past few months we have put together event safety plans for our event to move forward in a new format to ensure social distancing measures that are set forth by the CDC and are adhered to. We will aim to have a contactless event to provide a safe event for all. This event is a time trial, individual-start allowing no group bunches or large gatherings. Participants will be asked to start individually in a wave start and upon finish will be asked to exit the event venue.
We will provide temperature screenings for volunteers, staff and participants upon arrival at the venue on race day. Staff and volunteers are required to wear face coverings. We can provide this to you if you do not have your own. We ask that if you do have your own that you bring it with you. We will have increased hand sanitizing and hand washing stations and will continually wipe down frequently used surfaces.
We cannot produce this event with all the details and safety guidelines without help from volunteers! We are so deeply appreciative of the support you are able to provide for the event. Most volunteer positions will begin around 3pm on Saturday, October 17th. If you have a limited time available to volunteer please let us know this!
If on race day you're feeling unwell (or uncomfortable participating), we want you to be able to stay home, stay safe, and join us next year! Please let us know immediately by calling (828) 684-0812 if you are not able to attend!
All volunteers will receive snacks, lots of air high-fives, and a super-sweet iDaph buff!
Thank you so much for your help and support!
With Gratitude,
Daphne Kirkwood
