My Story…
Children of Promise, NYC (CPNYC) is a nonprofit organization based in Brooklyn, New York that offers cohesive and innovative programming to support children of incarcerated parents. Unlike any nonprofit organization, CPNYC co-locates a free after-school and summer program and a licensed mental health clinic.
CPNYC’s multi-faceted youth programming incorporates academic and creative engagement, therapeutic empowerment, and self-advocacy to create social change and justice.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, CPNYC quickly adjusted its services to support its children and families by:
Serving on the frontline, distributing Grab & Go hot meals, computers, cleaning materialsProviding financial relief in the form of gift cards and groceries.Partnering with individuals, corporations and local businesses to address the pressing needs of families impacted by the devastation of COVID.To support CPNYC in its response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Young Professionals Council (YPC) is launching this virtual 5K fundraiser for CPNYC.
