Fighting Skin Cancer on Two Wheels
All are welcome to join members of the ATHLETIC MENTORS / GREENWARE USA team to help fund cancer research by participating in the MSU Gran Fondo. Opportunities exist to ride the event or donate to support this important research. We are all familiar with friends and relatives who have battled cancer and this is an excellent method to contribute and insure that the important work continues. Description
Most of us have known people who have personally fought the battle against cancer. Through modern treatments and much grace, some have survived. Others have not. The MSU Gran Fondo is my opportunity to get some skin in the game and provide hope for nearly 70,000 people in the U.S. expected to be diagnosed with melanomas of the skin this year.
Funds raised from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Gran Fondo support skin cancer awareness, prevention and research at MSU. These dollars are funding pilot studies – investigative, next-step research that tests findings and enables a scientific study to continue.
