Description
Most of us have known people who have personally fought the battle against cancer. Through modern treatments and much grace, some have survived. Others have not. The MSU Gran Fondo is my opportunity to get some skin in the game and provide hope for nearly 70,000 people in the U.S. expected to be diagnosed with melanomas of the skin this year.
Funds raised from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Gran Fondo support skin cancer awareness, prevention and research at MSU. These dollars are funding pilot studies – investigative, next-step research that tests findings and enables a scientific study to continue.
The MSU Gran Fondo has raised over $1 Million and funded studies leading to some exciting breakthroughs in the fight against skin cancer. Click through the articles below to learn more.

Keeping skin cancer at bay
This June, the streets of West Michigan will be paved with good intentions. And here’s where I need your help. I’ve made a commitment to make the MSU Gran Fondo much more than a ride. My hope is that you will join me in supporting a mission that is more than skin deep. 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to support skin cancer awareness, prevention and research at MSU. Together we can make a difference. Thank you!
