Raise money for Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School

Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School is a non-profit organization located in North Vancouver that supports K-12 students with complex learning disabilities. Our specialized program offers students small academic classes with personalized instruction, one-on-one Orton-Gillingham tutoring, a focus on hands-on learning, and social-emotional support.

Statistics show that students with learning challenges, who do not receive the support that they need, have a higher risk of dropping out of school, adult suicide, and homelessness. There is a huge impact on a child’s life and emotional wellbeing when they experience low self-esteem and struggle due to their learning differences. When these students first walk through our doors, their confidence is low and they truly believe that they are not capable of having a successful future due to the way they learn. KGMS is a place they can come to be safe and experience a positive life changing educational opportunity that will lead them to reach their full potential.

We help students reframe the idea that they have about their future.

During these uncertain times, our community of students and their families are in need of support now more than ever.

Support a Child's Need to Learn - We are running to raise funds for Student Financial Aid. By supporting Team KGMS at the BMO RUN4HOPE, you are:

  • Supporting a healthier family life: KGMS assists and eases the heartache and stress that school struggles bring home. We provide in-school OG tutoring and the support and guidance that many families must seek outside of a traditional school environment.

  • Supporting the value of education, inclusion and fairness: your donation will provide equitable access for children who learn differently. By donating, you help us continue to provide a safe and comfortable learning environment for our K-12 students.

  • Honouring the KGMS teachers, tutors, counsellors, and support staff who have made a difference in a child's life, and for the essential work they do every day. You are helping a child understand that they are capable and deserving of a bright future.

A child needs to be taught in the way they learn best, and with your help, we can continue to set up all children who have learning challenges with a bright future. Every gift makes an impact, no matter the size. Today, you can change a child's life. Thank you!
