Help Mary raise money

I will be running the BMO Vancouver Half Marathon in May with a goal to raise at least $2,100 for Big Sisters of the Lower Mainland. I am so fortunate to still be able to run, and so fortunate to support this incredible organization. 

Many of the youth the organization serves struggle with bullying isolation, poverty, social anxiety and low self-esteem.  What’s worse is that they often face these challenges alone.  In fact, 1 in 10 youth in the Lower Mainland don’t feel they have a single adult in their lives who cares about them.  The pandemic has exacerbated the problem.

For 60 years, Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland has played a huge role in helping vulnerable young girls become mature, capable, educated young women. The Little Sisters I have met have shown incredible maturity, intelligence, leadership, a sense of community, and support to their families. The positive female role models their “Bigs” provide, benefit not just the individual girls, but their families and communities, as well. Last year, Big Sisters was able to match over 800 youth in our community with a caring mentor through the help of generous volunteers and donors like you.

Help me reach my goal of raising $100 per kilometre and help these girls to become independent, successful adults.  As this will again be a virtual, solo run, I am counting on my fundraising supporters to get me across the finish line!  Thank you!
