My Story…
I was introduced to A Breath of Hope at the beginning of my lung cancer journey. The support groups and education series have helped me to understand my disease along with the "new normal" life I have been experiencing and adjusting to. Sharing struggles and ideas with others gives me encouragement and helps to not feel so alone. The stigma that comes with a lung cancer diagnosis is real and hurtful, BOH is working to help change the stigma. I will forever be grateful to A Breath of Hope for all they do for me and all the many other lung cancer survivors.
A Breath of Hope is not just education and support groups they also help survivors with rides to doctors and treatments and they also help with groceries to those that may need extra help.
A Breath of Hope Foundation continually works to get healthcare companies to pay for early lung cancer screenings because there is a high percentage of patients by the time symptoms are showing and the lung cancers have been diagnosed it is in stag IV. Early detection can save lives. Everyone should have the ability to be screened before it's in late stages.
