My Story...
There are certain moments in time when you encounter something special and know it immediately. I can still clearly remember my son Jack's first experience with Camp Ooch like it was yesterday (in fact it was over 8 years ago now!)...we were on the 8th Floor of Sick Kids preparing to start chemotherapy when two upbeat young adults waltzed into his room and introduced themselves as Camp Ooch volunteers. They explained how they helped kids feel like kids even when facing a battle with cancer. Jack was curious and nervous at first but only at first...after the first in hospital Camp experience (drawing a picture which ended up on the cover of the next Camp Ooch newsletter) he was hooked. He has since attended the Muskoka camp most summers, multiple in-city events and now attempting the Duke of Edinburgh program with their support. Each year our family runs in the Sporting Life 10k and proudly fundraises for this wonderful organization. With your help we can keep the Special going! Thanks.

A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant.
For affected kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Camp Ooch offers a hopeful journey, where kids with cancer can just be kids, and families connect with a community of strength and support when they need it the most.
They are much more than a summer camp—they offer the social cure for childhood cancer. Their camp-inspired programs deliver fun, friendship, and community to 1,900 kids and 745 families year-round, all across Ontario. As a response to COVID-19, virtual camp and in-hospital programs continue to reach kids and families living in isolation, wherever they are.
