My Story...
This is my 12th year of being part of the Ooch year-round volunteer team. If all goes as planned, I will be spending time at in-city day camp this year with our amazing and inspiring campers! If that is not possible, I will continue to participate in our year-round virtual camp programs and I will likely help again to prepare camp kits to be sent to our camper families. These kits go hand-in-hand with our virtual programs so that everyone has the supplies they need to fully engage.
It is truly life changing to experience the magic of Camp Ooch and see our campers challenge themselves, nurture old and new friendships, and just be a kid. I’m honoured to continue to be part of their journey.
This is my 9th year running the Sporting Life 10K. Except in these unusual times, instead of running en masse down Yonge St, Dave and I will be charting our own virtual 10K course again this year. I’m also fundraising to ensure that as many kids as possible are able to be part of Camp Ooch.

Description
A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant.
For affected kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Camp Ooch offers a hopeful journey, where kids with cancer can just be kids, and families connect with a community of strength and support when they need it the most.
They are much more than a summer camp—they offer the social cure for childhood cancer. Their camp-inspired programs deliver fun, friendship, and community to 1,900 kids and 745 families year-round, all across Ontario. As a response to COVID-19, virtual camp and in-hospital programs continue to reach kids and families living in isolation, wherever they are.
