My Story...
I first heard about Camp Ooch 10 years ago. I attend camp for 3 amazing summers. During my time as a camper I made some incredible friendships that I still keep in touch with to this day. Camp helped me build back up my confidence and independence after treatment. I will always be forever grateful to the community that camp created for me. In 2019 I had the opportunity to give back I volunteered for a week at overnight camp. This time it was my turn to help create magical moments for my campers. Since Covid-19 happened I have been volunteering in virtual programs. If I have learned anything over the past year it's that camp is not a place its a community and a feeling. Virtual programs that Camp Ooch and Trillium have run over the past year have brought so much joy to lives of the campers.

A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant.
For affected kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Camp Ooch offers a hopeful journey, where kids with cancer can just be kids, and families connect with a community of strength and support when they need it the most.
They are much more than a summer camp—they offer the social cure for childhood cancer. Their camp-inspired programs deliver fun, friendship, and community to 1,900 kids and 745 families year-round, all across Ontario. As a response to COVID-19, virtual camp and in-hospital programs continue to reach kids and families living in isolation, wherever they are.
