My Story...
I'm running the 10K this year with my amazing co-workers at Yonge St.
Going to summer camp is something I was fortunate enough to participate in when I was a kid. At camp, there is no end to the magic. The rituals of campfire songs, sleeping in the woods, morning dip & pre-dinner yells, chants, and cheers bring out the very best in any kid. At camp, there are forces that bring together who usually wouldn't co-exist in normal life, where unlikely friendships are forged.
No kid should have to miss out on that kind of magic. Camp Ooch and Camp Trillium make the magic of camp possible for kids and families who are affected by childhood cancer. They provide "Year-round community, in-hospital and overnight camp programs deliver fun, friendship and a sense of community at any stage of a childhood cancer journey".
Having met only a few of these amazing families and children that the 10K has been able to help, I want to help provide more opportunities for kids to experience the magic of camp! Please donate!

A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant.
For affected kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Camp Ooch offers a hopeful journey, where kids with cancer can just be kids, and families connect with a community of strength and support when they need it the most.
They are much more than a summer camp—they offer the social cure for childhood cancer. Their camp-inspired programs deliver fun, friendship, and community to 1,900 kids and 745 families year-round, all across Ontario. As a response to COVID-19, virtual camp and in-hospital programs continue to reach kids and families living in isolation, wherever they are.
