Dear Family and Friends,
As a social worker at SickKids, I get to witness the magic Camp Ooch brings to the hospital. When children receive a cancer diagnosis life changes immediately. They being difficult treatments and often miss out on many childhood experiences for that time. Camp Ooch ensures that while experiencing treatment children get to continue to attend camp both inside and outside of the hospital. During this pandemic they have made the quick transition to online programming and continue to be as creative as possible to bring a smile to a child each day. I love hearing the summer camp stories. Children look forward coming into the hospital because they will get to visit their camp friends. Please support Camp Ooch so they can continue to offer these experiences to children and families.

A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant.
For affected kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Camp Ooch offers a hopeful journey, where kids with cancer can just be kids, and families connect with a community of strength and support when they need it the most.
They are much more than a summer camp—they offer the social cure for childhood cancer. Their camp-inspired programs deliver fun, friendship, and community to 1,900 kids and 745 families year-round, all across Ontario. As a response to COVID-19, virtual camp and in-hospital programs continue to reach kids and families living in isolation, wherever they are.
