Our Story...

Thank you for being here! :)

I first stepped onto the grounds of Camp Ooch - Muskoka in August 2018. I spent two weeks with Jays 2, a cabin group of girlies aged 9 &10. They showed me around camp and taught me everything Ooch! In 2019, I returned once again to Session 3 for two weeks and was paired up with Cardinals 1 (better known as the Cardy Party!). This group was made up of seven 6 year old little dudes, all experiencing their very first time at camp. The energy level was 1000 for the entire session! While at Camp, I'm a volunteer lifeguard and run swim sessions for each cabin group, which means I get to meet almost every camper! WOW!

When I'm not down at the docks for the morning polar bear dip, swim sessions, or free swim at the end of the day, I get to join my cabin group at their activities! My favourites are waterskiing, high ropes, and special trips to the local goat farm. Fun fact! The entire first level of the high ropes course at Ooch is wheelchair accessible! Incredible, right?!

This place is so magical for so many reasons, but my favourite part about Ooch is everyone's incredible flexibility - both campers and counsellors! The answer is very, very, rarely "no". Every volunteer makes every effort to make any camper dream come true! It's so special!

I promote donating to Camp Ooch because I believe in this organization. Whether through daily hospital programs year-round, day camp, overnight camp, or now, online camp, Camp Ooch makes the lives of those affected by childhood cancer a tiny bit easier. I could go on and on! Please reach out if you are curious about how your funds may be used.

Loads of love!

Jenny :)

Description

A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant.

For affected kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Camp Ooch offers a hopeful journey, where kids with cancer can just be kids, and families connect with a community of strength and support when they need it the most.

They are much more than a summer camp—they offer the social cure for childhood cancer. Their camp-inspired programs deliver fun, friendship, and community to 1,900 kids and 745 families year-round, all across Ontario. As a response to COVID-19, virtual camp and in-hospital programs continue to reach kids and families living in isolation, wherever they are.

Please consider making a donation to our fundraising efforts—your gift will make a world of difference!

Cancer changes a child’s life. So does camp. And so can you.
