Our Story...
While we cope at home with COVID-19 and feel the effects of social distancing, we need to remember that remaining healthy in both mind and body is just as important. In an effort to keep normal healthy habits in check, we’ve decided to join others in the “new normal”.
From Sunday, May 9, 2021 – Sunday, May 30, 2021, we will be joining the Sporting Life 10K Virtual – We run for Ooch … And now you can walk, run or a combination of both - anywhere in Canada, anytime in May!
We’ve created a Team for anyone who is interested in joining. We are all in this together and while COVID-19 may be keeping us apart physically, together we can prove that we are a strong and supportive team – even from a distance.
Description
A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant.
For affected kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Camp Ooch offers a hopeful journey, where kids with cancer can just be kids, and families connect with a community of strength and support when they need it the most.
They are much more than a summer camp—they offer the social cure for childhood cancer. Their camp-inspired programs deliver fun, friendship, and community to 1,900 kids and 745 families year-round, all across Ontario. As a response to COVID-19, virtual camp and in-hospital programs continue to reach kids and families living in isolation, wherever they are.
