My Story…
Spinal Cord Injury BC has been an immense support to me since my car accident in 1994. I have met many other people in wheelchairs through them. There's something very beautiful about connecting with other people with Spinal Cord Injuries! I feel like I don't have to explain my struggles. They get it because they go through it too! Since before the pandemic I had not been very active after my third son was born, but I started attending Leo Sammarelli's Westcoast Adaptive Boxing online class on Thursday mornings, sponsored by SCI BC, and now I'm a little bit of a fitness nut! There have been so many online options for people with disabilities to participate throughout the pandemic and I feel really great mentally and physically lately because of these activities. I have also made some really great friends through the online board games on Friday night and I honestly already can't imagine my life without these people! We laugh so much during games night and sometimes cry, but the group is so supportive through it all! SCI BC has been such a blessing through these tough times! Thank-you for supporting a cause I believe in from my head to my paralyzed toes!
