Thank you for stopping by my fundraising page for the NSCR Caregiver Support Program and for considering donating to help support caregivers during this challenging time where they need your help the most.

Family and friend caregivers have been on the front lines of the pandemic caring for people without pay, without recognition and oftentimes at the expense of their own psychological, physical, emotional, and financial well-being.  Unpaid family and friend caregivers have played, and continue to play, an essential role in supporting our health care system. There are roughly 1.1 million family and friend caregivers in British Columbia who are caring for people with chronic conditions, mental health, disability, or conditions associated with aging such as, physical or cognitive changes like dementia, or Alzheimer's.  According to a recent survey ‘Family & Friend Caregivers on the Front Lines: Provincial survey highlights for caregivers in British Columbia,’ conducted by Family Caregivers of British Columbia over “50% of caregivers reported their mental health had gotten worse and over 40% reported their physical health had declined. 

NSCR's Caregiver support program provides vital mental health support and education to help caregivers to maintain their well-being both now and beyond the pandemic. Your donation goes a long way in helping our program provide this essential support to our friend and family caregivers.
