My Story…
Hello, my name is Gwen Jaskiewicz and I am fourteen years old and finishing my Grade Eight year at Archbishop Carney Regional Secondary School. I was unexpectedly diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) when I was twelve and finishing Grade Six at St. Patrick's Elementary School. Since then I have had Methotrexate injections every Friday (Shot Day!), attended Rheumatology appointments every three months, and watched for any achiness in my jaw and fingers. I feel incredibly blessed for the almost unnoticeable soreness in my joints, but that is not the case for many other children and youth with JIA. I thank you very much for your donation to Cassie and Friends, as this will provide plenty of support to kids and their families who are most in need... The info session my family went to a year and a half ago was awesome and very relevant. Thank you for your donation!
