 As part of the more than $33 million budget to build a new Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH), the Hospital Foundation is raising $5 million for all the new medical equipment. NRGH has been providing exemplary care to patients with severe, life-threatening illnesses and injuries in the current ICU for 50 years. When you need this level of care, it is critical the ICU has the latest medical equipment. In 2013, an external review said despite the challenges in an outdated facility, NRGH’s ICU ranks near the top nationally for positive patient health outcomes. Providing our expert medical teams with a modern space and state-of-the-art equipment will enable them to continue delivering this exceptional level of care for years to come.
