For participating in Isolation Run for Health Care Workers

My Story…

Friends/Colleagues/Neighbors/Family members and fellow Canadians, My running story began quite casually back in 2016 in Kanata, Ontario. As a challenge to my 55 Yr old self, and also to support a local recreation center (Richcraft Recreation Complex), I registered in a neighborhood running race (Kanata Race Day). Until then I had never run before. I, however, had about 20 days to get race ready!! Initially, my goal was to train and run the 5K distance. With a few solo test runs under my belt, I became bold and moved up to the longest distance - the 10K. Nervous yet excited, I toed the start line on race day. I exceed my wildest expectation and crossed the finish line in 00:55:18.96. The rest is history. As a new challenge to myself and in support of health care workers at The Ottawa Hospital, I aim to run a minimum of 5k every day for a full month and request your support and generosity. Let’s show health care workers in our communities that we care. Thank You.
