IT WAS A FANTASTIC DAY!

The Rooted Acoustic Barn Raising 5.5K & 1M Kids Dash was an exciting opportunity for our community to come together to enjoy physical activity and embrace the outdoors! This is the 3rd annual race and was held entirely within the 1,388 acres of the Greene Valley Forest Preserve. THAT'S why it is a 5.5K! The Start & Finish is in front of the barn.

The 175-year-old, 14,000-square-feet Greene Barn was open to the public. It is located in the Greene Valley Forest Preserve at the corner of Hobson and Greene Roads in Naperville. Timber frame experts were on hand to share history and construction insights.

Proceeds from this race benefit The Greene Barn. The race is an effort to build awareness for this striking cultural treasure and its potential to be open to the public on an on-going basis.

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is strictly adhering to any COVID restrictions necessary to keep all of us healthy and safe. We all remain hopeful that we will be able to share the morning together in one of the most beautiful settings along the East Branch of the DuPage River, The Greene Barn.

Race Timing

Race Timing
The Rooted Acoustic Barn Raising 5K uses a disposable chip timing tag that runners receive at packet pick up on their race bibs. It is lightweight and remains attached to the race bib. This race is timed and scored by Time to Run and live results will be posted at https://results.raceroster.com/results/j9pgsyu3xfj34re4

Runners MUST wear their race bibs on the front of their clothing in order to be timed accurately. The bib cannot be covered, holding it in your hand or putting it in your pocket will NOT read the chip. Do not bend the chip. Smart watches such as Garmin and smart phones can interfere with the timing chip frequency. Please do not adjust your watch or phone as you cross the finish line and come through the chute. Disputes for times on Smart watches and smart phones will not be taken into consideration.
